Here’s my story…

I believe that I didn’t pick jewelry. Jewelry picked me. I was searching for something else when jewelry got in my way. I love making jewels, learning new technics and concepts of creation. I get excited when I see the transformation between a work in progress and a finished jewel. Even being challenged to run a jewelry business, my will of learning and improving has been my driving force!

I've always been very creative. By the time I was a little girl, I used to wake up at 7am to paint wood, stained glass and ceramic pieces on the floor. I always loved drawing and painting angels, flowers and animals theme objects. I used to love doing it and every time I received some money, I would spend it right away in new painting materials.

Later, I went to high school at an art school and learned a different approach to art, more focused on conceptual art, where I specialized in goldsmith. Working metal fascinated me but the conceptual approach was really not my thing. I really wanted to know how big jewelry brands were able to do the most amazing jewelry pieces, pieces that were nothing like what I’ve learned to do.

When I finished high school, I had the most amazing opportunity to study high jewelry in Florence, Italy, right in the core of the Renascence Capital. I had the most amazing time learning the best I could while I was there. In those 10 months, I learned different specialities in 3 different amazing schools. It was as experience of a lifetime to live alone in a different country with 18 years old. I was able to experience culture, techniques and designs of traditional renascence jewelry in situ. in situ.

Years later, I applied for Damiani Academy course in Valenza, Italy, and I got in, being the only foreign student among italians. After a month and a half, they hired me, where I worked for 10 months in an industrial context. It was at that time that I decided to go my own way and create my brand, Tatiana Marques Jewelry.
